Taylor-Fletcher Pens New Pool Deal
Gary Taylor-Fletcher has signed a new contract at Blackpool after drawn-out talks between the club and his agent.
The 30-year-old has in the last few minutes announced on his twitter account that he will be staying with the Seasiders until at least the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
The initial deal is only until the end of this season, but with an added year option, the player said: "Basically this an next [year] I'll defo be at Bpool."
Since his arrival from Huddersfield Town in 2007, GTF has split opinion in the stands. But since Ian Holloway took charge at Bloomfield Road, he has blossomed into one of the most integral members of the tangerine starting eleven.
The deal has taken longer to sort out than many had hoped, but it gives a boost to supporters that one of the 'main men' - as GTF characterised himself last week - is now on parity in wages with most other key members of the squad.
He had said that the contract negotiations were affecting his form.
Meanwhile, The Gazette are reporting that Keith Southern turned down the first contract offer made to him but that the club have gone back in with another.
That contract deal is said to be close.
