Hills Replaces Shore As Head of Youth

In breaking news this afternoon BFC have officially announced that Jamie Shore has left the club, with former Seasiders defender John Hills replacing him as Head of Youth.

Rumours over Shore's future have been circulating for days, with Vital Blackpool Editor Jack Gaughan correctly reporting several days ago that Shore was set to leave the club.

The reasons behind Shore's departure are unclear, but there has been much discontent at the way he has run the youth side of the club in the six or so months he's been at Bloomfield Road since replacing the ill Gary Parkinson.

Hills has been involved within the youth set-up for a while (alongside running his own soccer school), and will now step-up to manage the youth set-up for the Seasiders on a full time basis.

Speaking to the official website about his appointment, Hills said:

'I've been doing a lot of coaching over the past few years and it's something I'm really looking forward to doing. I'm a Blackpool fan and I can't wait to start working for the club that I have so much love for.

'I will pass on my experience to the young lads, and give them as good a chance as possible at coming through.'

The coaching set-up at Bloomfield Road now has a very familar feel to it, with the likes of John Murphy, Alan Wright, Jamie Milligan and now Hillsy all working as coaches at various levels within the club.

What odds on our next chief scout also being a former Seasider?!
