Gazette: McPhee Quit After Wage Row

Gazette: McPhee Quit After Wage Row

The Gazette are this morning reporting that Blackpool first team coach Steve McPhee left the club after a row about wages.

McPhee left the club yesterday, with 'Pool manager Ian Holloway remarking:

'I feel for him to be fair. I can understand the chairman's point of view but he (Stephen) is adamant that he can't work for that (wage).

'I liked his development. I thought he had been absolutely outstanding over the summer.

'But as I told him, I can't change certain things. It is not my position to do that. I can only make recommendations.'

In a bit of good news though, Blackpool have announced who their new goalkeeper coach is - BFC legend George Wood.

Wood made 117 appearances for the Seasiders during the 1970s and has since coached at Cardiff, Hartlepool and Swindon.

Silly man walking away. He should have stayed until he had gained a position elsewhere....Seems your Mr Oyston is back to his old tricks....
