Championship News Round-Up

Birmingham: The Blues have lost centre half Roger Johnson to Wolves for around £7 million. However, new Brum manager Chris Hughton has moved quickly to replace him; signing Steven Caldwell on a free. Lee Bowyer has also left St. Andrews, joining Ipswich on a free. Ex Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope has been appointed as the club's news first team coach.

Brighton: The Seagulls have signed Dagenham and Redbridge defender Romain Vincelot. They've also signed Newcastle's Kazenga Lua Lua on loan until January with a view to a permanent move.

Burnley: Centre half Clarke Carlise has joined Preston on a season-long loan with Man City's Ben Mee replacing him (also on loan). Chris Iwelumo has also exited Turf Moor, joining Watford. The biggest news concerning Eddie Howe's men however is that midfielder Chris Eagles and defender Tyrone Mears are set to join Bolton in a combined fee of around £3 million.

Cardiff: Busy times in Wales. In have come Aron Gunnarsson (Coventry - free), Joe Mason (Plymouth - undisclosed), Filip Kiss (Slovan Bratislava - loan), whilst striker Jay Bothroyd has left for QPR. Malky Mackay's side are also believed to be close to signing strikers Kenny Miller and Rudy Gestede.

Crystal Palace: Two new signings for Dougie Freedman's side - Australian Mile Jedinak and Norwegian Jonathan Parr (previously linked with the Seasiders).

Derby: Ex 'Pool loanee Luke Varney has departed the club, signing for Portsmouth. Meanwhile, ex Middlesbrough centre half Chris Riggott is on trial at Pride Park.

Doncaster: Rovers has completed the signing of veteran defender Richard Naylor on a free transfer, as well as extending James Coppinger's contract until 2014.

Hull: Defender Liam Cooper has joined Huddersfield on loan, whilst midfielder Jimmy Bullard has been suspended by the club for reasons unknown.

Ipswich: The Tractor Boys have signed Lee Bowyer on a free from Birmingham.

Leeds: Leeds boss Simon Grayson has banned his players from Twitter after striker Davide Somma tweeted about his knee injury.

Leicester: In: Matt Mills (Reading, £5 million). Out: Conrad Logan (Rotherham, loan). In: Paul Konchesky (Liverpool, undisclosed). Out: Robbie Neilson (released). In: John Pantsil (free).

Middlesbrough: Striker Kris Boyd has left the club, signing for Turkish side Eskisehirspor. Midfielder Didier Digard has also left the club, signing for French side Nice. Midfielder Kevin Thomson and goalkeeper Jason Steele both face around three months out through injury. Meanwhile, ex 'Pool midfielder Malaury Martin has signed for Tony Mowbray's side on a one year deal.

Nottingham Forest: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has joined Forest as first team coach, whilst veteran midfielder George Boateng has also signed for Steve McClaren's side. Forest have also signed Jonathan Greening. Midfielder Guy Moussi has signed a new contract, meanwhile.

Peterborough: The Posh have signed right back Craig Alcock from Yeovil and goalkeeper Paul Jones from Exeter.

Portsmouth: Three new arrivals at Fratton Park: Derby's Luke Varney, Bristol City's Stephen Henderson and Wolves' Greg Halford.

Reading: Ibrahima Sonko is on trial with the club, whilst Jobi McAnuff has been appointed captain. The big news though is Matt Mills joining Leicester for £5 million.

Southampton: Just one new arrival at St. Mary's - 'Pool target Jack Cork.

Watford: Three new arrivals here: 'Pool target Mark Yeates from Sheff Utd, Prince Buaben from Dundee Utd and Chris Iwelumo from Burnley.

West Ham: The Hammers have signed Matty Taylor from Bolton as they gamble heaily on going straight back up to the Premier League.
