Bignot Deal Confirmed

Bignot Deal Confirmed

We reported earlier today that Newport County right back Paul Bignot was set to sign for Blackpool, and the deal has been officially confirmed by the Seasiders tonight.

The 25 year old has been on trial with the 'Pool this week and played in the second half of Tuesday's friendly against Rangers, seemingly impressing enough in the process to earn a move to Bloomfield Road.

Bignot joins the Seasiders for an undisclosed fee (believed to be money up top plus appearance related clauses) and has signed a two year deal with a further year's option.

With Bignot attracting interest from elsewhere in the Championship, Ian Holloway's side have moved quickly to secure the player's signature, and Ollie will no doubt be relieved that the negotiations were straight forward after the protracted negotiations for Barry Ferguson and the Mame Biram Diouf saga.

Meanwhile, the Seasiders are continuing negotiations with Liverpool winger Thomas Ince as Ollie looks to finalise his squad with just two weeks to go until the new season.
