Where Does Crainey Signing Leave Harris And Hill?

Stephen Crainey signing a new deal with the Seasiders caught all but a few people by surprise this morning - the Scot was widely thought to be on his way out of Bloomfield Road.

However, Crainey signing a new deal raises question marks about where it leaves Bob Harris and Matt Hill.

Harris is currently training with the 'Pool squad and is in talks with the club about signing for them.

However, manager Ian Holloway has reportedly decided to take a longer look at him in training before committing to a deal for the young Scot (although it is our understanding that he has impressed so far) and Vital can confirm that Harris is set to travel to Portugal with the rest of the Blackpool first team for their pre-season training camp.

As for Hill, he was first linked to the Seasiders by sources in Preston on Wednesday night, and last night Vital had confirmation through that the rumours were a bit more concrete than that, and that the 30 year old ex Bristol City, Preston, Wolves and Barnsley left back was actually in talks with the club.

You'd have to say that Crainey signing a new deal will kill the chances of Hill now moving to us - Harris is much more likely to be signed as his understudy.

Indeed, could it be that the Seasiders have played a very clever game, using Hill to prompt Crainey into making a decision? Who knows, but it promises to be a very interesting - and frantic - few days either way!
