Breaking News: Adam Completes Liverpool Move
In the last few minutes Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Blackpool captain Charlie Adam on their official website.
Kenny Dalglish's side have been pursuing the Scottish international midfielder for months, making a series of bids for him in January that were rejected.
However, following prolonged talks between the two teams, agreement between the two clubs was struck yesterday morning and Adam travelled to Melwood to undergo his medical.
Shortly after Liverpool confirmed the move was complete on their official website, Charlie Adam tweeted the following on his official Twitter page:
'i am now officially a LIVERPOOL FC player... thanks for all the support over last few months...charlie.
'i would like to take this chance also to thank the players and staff of bfc had 2 and half fantastic years there and plenty of memories.'
The details of Charlie's contract at Anfield are not yet clear, nor are the details of the transfer fee that has taken him there. However, Vital understands that Liverpool have paid an initial fee of £7 million with further add-ons included in the deal.
As part of the deal (unofficially), the Seasiders have also been given permission to speak to two of Liverpool's youngsters about permanent transfers to Bloomfield Road, although the identity of the players in question remains unknown.
