'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'You can have an old woman giving you stick'

Blackpool's first signing of the summer Bojan Djordjic has today spoken extensively about his move to Bloomfield Road, revealing his delight at linking up again with 'Pool manager Ian Holloway.

And for those of us - including myself - who are unhappy with his signing, his words will do a bit to lift our doubts and concerns... let's just hope that his enthusiastic words are matched by enthusiastic performances on the pitch!

Speaking to Will Watt at the Blackpool Gazette, the 29 year old midfielder said:

'I am so thankful for the chance to prove that I can still do it at this level.

'Blackpool as a club have proved everyone wrong in the past and hopefully I can do the same.

'Ian Holloway is one of the only managers that ever truly believed in me and always got the best out of me.

'He knew I had the talent, and after I was released by United he made me believe I could achieve things in the game. I'm delighted he has given me a second chance.

'I know I can still do it in England and can't wait to get started. English football is the place to be. I love the passion. I love the crowds.

'The best thing about it is that you can be in a bakery and have an 80-year-old woman giving you stick if you don't play well. It's the place I want to be and I'm delighted to have the chance.'

Djordjic will meet his new team mates on Monday when pre-season training begins.
