'Pool Knocked Back In McClean Bid?
Today's Bourne Local claims that Blackpool have had an offer rejected for Irish winger James McClean.
The 22 year old has attracted a raft of interest for his performances for Derry City, with both Burnley and West Ham (amongst others) said to be tracking the player.
However, according to the Local, the Seasiders are the first club to make a concrete offer for the player (with Ian Holloway allegedly having watched him twice) - an offer that apparently fell well short of Derry's expectations.
Speaking about the possibility of a move to the paper, McClean said:
'There have been quite a few rumours flying around over recent weeks regarding my future, but no one has said anything to me officially. Until that becomes the case, I want to concentrate on improving and playing well for Derry.
'I feel I've been playing well this season in the Premier Division which was always going to be a test for me having come through the First Division the previous season.
'Obviously, I'm still learning and still trying to improve my game and should an offer come in for me from a good club, then I would certainly sit up, take advice on the matter and move on.'
