Masters Team Set To Do Battle
Lee Jones, Mike Flynn, Phil Clarkson, Chris Beech, Tony Dinning, Andy Preece, Ben Thornley(!) and Junior Bent will roll back the years at the Echo Arena this evening as they compete in the Selco Mersey Masters wearing the famous tangerine.
'Pool entered the competition for the first time last season and were cruelly knocked out in the group stage.
This year's team features a few changes though, with the likes of Thornley and Preece coming in for Steve Thompson and Tony Ellis.
This year, rivals Preston North End are not fielding a team, so the competition will be made up of the Seasiders, Liverpool, Everton, Tranmere, Wigan and Bolton.
Liverpool's side includes John Barnes, Everton's side includes Peter Beagrie (naturally), whilst Bolton's side includes ex 'Pool assistant manager Mark Seagraves and current Bolton manager Owen Coyle.
