Carling Cup Draw Details

The draw for the first round of next season's Carling Cup will be made tomorrow morning at 10am, and we'll have news on who the Seasiders will be playing as soon as our tie is pulled out of the hat.

Due to Birmingham's participation in the Europa League, Crawley face AFC Wimbledon in a preliminary round next month, but that does not affect the Seasiders as we are in the Northern Section of the draw (it's like being back in the LDV Vans Trophy!).

There are 34 teams in the Northern Section - 17 seeded and 17 unseeded. We are seeded, thus can only play an unseeded team.

Therefore, we will face one of the following seventeen teams:

1. Accrington

2. Bradford

3. Burton

4. Bury

5. Chesterfield

6. Crewe

7. Hartlepool

8. Macclesfield

9. Morecambe

10. Notts County

11. Oldham

12. Port Vale

13. Rotherham

14. Sheffield Wednesday (THIS IS NOT A MISPRINT!)

15. Shrewsbury

16. Tranmere

17. Walsall

Who do you think the Seasiders will draw? Who do you want us to draw? As always, you can have your say on Vital - get involved!
