Sernas Disappointed After 'Pool Bid Rejected

Who is Darvydas Sernas?

Well he's a 26 year old Lithuanian striker who claims that Blackpool had a bid rejected for him during January's transfer window. Not only that, but he says that he's disappointed that he didn't get the opportunity to move to Bloomfield Road.

Sernas has played for FK Vetra and Spartak Nalchik, but is currently on the books of Widzew Lodz and has scored 23 goals in 52 appearances for them. He's also a full international for Lithuania, having made 20 appearances and scoring 3 goals.

Speaking to goal.com, Sernas said:

'Widzew didn't reach an agreement with Blackpool. Unfortunately, not everything depends on me. Playing in the Premier League is a dream for many players. I don't know exactly why Widzew didn't want to let me go.

'The proposal I received from England was the best I got. I will possibly never get another chance like this. I really wanted to join Blackpool, but the club decided that I had to stay put. It's hard for me to understand Widzew's decision.'

Despite their failure to land Sernas, the Seasiders did enjoy a rather fruitful January transfer window, although you wouldn't have guessed from Wednesday night's performance!

Still, it's nice to hear of a player actually wanting to move to Blackpool isn't it?!

Meanwhile, 'Pool manager Ian Holloway has criticised both James Beattie's and Charlie Adam's agents after it transpired that Spurs' last gasp bid for Adam on transfer deadline day was the result of meddling by Beattie's agent, whilst Adam's agent Kenny Moyes has drawn widespread criticism for his behaviour regarding Adam's future.

Stay tuned to Vital this evening for our preview of tomorrow's clash with Everton.
