'Pool Submit Revised Premier League Squad

Blackpool have today submitted their revised 25 man Premier League squad for the rest of the season following the end of the January transfer window.

As expected, there are several changes to the squad that was submitted in January:

In goal, keeper Paul Rachubka has been added to the squad following his return from injury. He joins Matt Gilks and Richard Kingson, leaving 'Pool with three first team keepers plus youngster Mark Halstead (who is included in 'Pool's list of Under 21 players).

In defence, Chris Basham has been included despite The Gazette claiming that he would not be following his broken leg. Basham is expected to return to action March, and presumably will provide cover for fellow centre halves Craig Cathcart (who has been registered as an Under 21), Ian Evatt, Alex Baptiste and Rob Edwards. Neal Eardley, Stephen Crainey and David Carney are all included along with new signing Salaheddine Sbai. Dekel Keinan obviously drops out of the squad following his move to Cardiff, whilst there is no place for Danny Coid. Coid is expected to leave the Seasiders on a free transfer in the summer, and will do so without having played a Premier League game for the Seasiders unfortunately. Ash Eastham remains as an Under 21.

In midfield, Keith Southern is included despite holding talks with Leeds United about a possible loan move yesterday. This would seem to suggest that Blackpool will not be signing Scottish midfielder and free agent Michael Stewart especially as they have submitted a complete 25 man squad which now cannot be changed before the end of the season. The usual suspects are all in the squad - David Vaughan, Charlie Adam, Ludovic Sylvestre, Elliot Grandin and Gary Taylor-Fletcher. They are joined by new signings Andy Reid and Jason Puncheon. There are no places for either Malaury Martin or Ishmel Demontagnac. Matt Phillips and Stephen Husband are retained as Under 21s.

In attack, DJ Campbell, Luke Varney, Brett Ormerod and Marlon Harewood are all retained. They are joined by new signings Sergei Kornilenko and James Beattie. Jason Euell drops out of the squad as a result. Louis Almond and Tom Barkhuizen are retained as Under 21s.
