Given Move to Blackpool Unlikely

Sky Sports journalist Fraser Dainton has told us here at Blackpool Vital that he would be 'very surprised' if Shay Given moved to Blackpool.

The Manchester City goalkeeper was the subject of plenty of internet rumours as to whether he would be moving to Bloomfield Road on loan.

The Times' Northern correspondent James Ducker said the Seasiders had made enquiries about the player.

However, Dainton suggested that City don`t want to let Given go as he is still considered cover for number one Joe Hart.

He said: 'Roberto Mancini has loaned out another goalkeeper to Leeds United and the loan rule means you can't recall anyone within the first 28 days.

'If Hart got injured, there is very little cover for him and I'd be very surprised to see Given moving.'
