Rangers' Beattie Having Medical At Blackpool

James Beattie is set having a medical at Blackpool, Sky Sports report.

The Scottish media have linked the Rangers man with a move to Bloomfield Road this morning, with leading journalists on Twitter also agreeing.

If the 32-year-old were to sign for the Seasiders, it would give Ian Holloway an extra option up front with Beattie fighting alongside DJ Campbell and Marlon Harewood to lead the tangerine line.

Formally of Stoke City, he was linked in the summer but as Ollie played down those reports, Rangers swooped but Beattie has failed to make an impact at Ibrox.

And with the Gers signing David Healy, it now paves the way for the former England international to join Andy Reid on the Fylde Coast for a medical.
