'Pool Miss Out On Hammill?

In breaking news tonight, several national newspapers are reporting that Barnsley midfielder Adam Hammill has travelled to Wolves for a medical ahead of a £500,000 move to the club.

The news will come as a massive blow to Ian Holloway and Blackpool who made signing Hammill one of their priorities this transfer window.

Even though both clubs had offers accepted for the player after meeting a release clause in his contract, 'Pool remained confident that the package they put to the player would see him rejoin the Seasiders over signing for Wolves; confidence that increased when Hammill said that (despite earlier media reports suggesting that his wage demands were too high for the Seasiders) the money on the table didn't matter to him, but playing regularly in the Premier League did.

However, the same reports suggesting that Hammill is on the verge of signing for Wolves also state that he will sign a £20,000 a week contract with the club... obviously the player's words about money were hollow whichever way you look at it, and the Seasiders will be rueing persuing his signature for so long this window.

So where to now for the Seasiders? As always Ollie has compiled a long list of targets to work through and expect the Seasiders to be linked with a whole fresh batch of names in the coming days.

One name doing the rounds once again Bradley Wright-Phillips, although it is Vital's understanding that the injury striken forward is likely to join Rangers in a £300,000 deal - a price that the Seasiders are unlikely to match.

Fingers crossed that Ollie has some more bargains up this sleeve, and that this time they actually sign on the dotted line!

hey P Avfc.... you are having to spend millions to get you out the *****!... or you would not be far behind them the way you are playing... i have never said bigger or better... and why is it luck.... are you saying we have not played well??.. and your so good you are after our player,,,,, you must want him to bring you some luck eh!!...... ha ha ha
jacpool
Put it this way top 6 or bottom 6 we would of had to spend that much on a player because we needed a quality striker and we can actually afford to pay that sum of money hence your a tiny club because you can hardly pay bonus's to players. We have played poor so what? So have liverpool and chelsea in recent times doesn't mean we are small clubs all of a sudden haha, we are showing our ambition and will rise and become a force again. When adam is in claret and blue and joining makoun, bent, walker and maybe samba/sphraic and figueroa then we will show you why your only part timers HONK HONK!
P.Avfc
yeah so ya keep saying... no signs of anything yet from you..... we are a tiny club.... but at least we do not think we are gonna be a top side , we just want to stay up..... listen if some big company or man with millions came and bought us we could could all throw money at players.... will not always make you winners though.... team spirt pal, thats what we have ...... something your randy cant buy for you !!
jacpool
Of course we dont have team spirit, any other team can go finish 6th three years running, get to cup finals and semi finals and still have no team spirit haha. We arn't spending money to be 'winners', we are trying and we will get back to where we want to be, challenging for europe and putting up a fight for champions league places. Bent is the start, more of those deals will come in the summer where your club will be buying washed up 40 year olds or average championship players and fighting for relegation simples!
P.Avfc
get a grip... u not won anything for years... who cares when your 6 , 7 , 8 etc... semi finals., runners up.... means nothing ,,, no one is arsed... no one talks about ya cause u a boring average team...... champions league .. dont make me laugh..... keep taking the medication kid!!!
jacpool
Superior every way :)
