'Pool Bid For Nugent?

After narrowly missing out on his signature in the summer, 'Pool are once again being linked with Portsmouth forward David Nugent.

'Pool were beaten by the transfer deadline back in August as they negotiated on Nugent's wages with Pompey's administrators and then couldn't get hold of the player whose phone was off (some have suggested that this was deliberate on Nugent's part - once a Knobber, always a Knobber).

However, the Seasiders are once again being linked with the player, although this time on a permanent basis (the offer in the summer was a loan deal).

Reports suggest that Ian Holloway's side have made a £500,000 bid for the player whose contract expires in the summer.

However, whilst some have suggested that hard-up Pompey will not be able to refuse such a deal (especially given the player's wages), reports from down on the South coast this morning are suggesting that, in fact, the Championship club will reject 'Pool's offer.

So what do you think: would you happy if the Seasiders signed Nugent, or should Ollie stay clear of the ex PNE striker? As always, your thoughts and opinions are welcomed on our forums... get posting!

I know we are struggling financially, but that really is a derisory offer. The guy is overpaid thats for sure, but on the pitch he has got his confidence back again and is a real asset to our club. If he leaves it is purely for better money and I know that you have a strick policy on wages etc, so don't think would want to leave. Clearly you are in the Premiership so thats the draw. By the way on that, bloody well done and I love seeing you take it to the big boys in our absence. If you can nick him from us then fair play. All best for the rest of the season and hope we can meet you there in the not too distant future.

It is what it is - we cant afford his wages and he is going in the summer... were not going to go up so he may as well go now. The only reason I can see this not happening is Nugent himself either through choice or salary.......

For your manager to offer Pompey 500,000 for Nugent is a disgrace . What a total lack of respect . You should put a 1 in front of the next offer . The last time an offer like that was acceptable Holloway had hair ! I certainly hope Holloway phoned the Pompey manager with his intentions . Anything less is inexcusable . Total lack of respect . One last thing ... Mancini can get away with the the tied scarf thing because he is Italian and has class . Holloway just looks a tw*t .
