Wright-Phillips Bid Rejected

According to the press down South this morning, Blackpool have had a bid rejected for Plymouth forward Bradley Wright-Phillips.

News of the Seasiders' interest in the in-form player emerged yesterday, with 'Pool rumoured to have made a £500,000 bid for the player.

However, despite Plymouth being hard-up and BWP's contract expiring in the summer, the bid has been rejected.

Wright-Phillips has bagged 13 goals in 17 league games this season and it is believed that 'Pool manager Ian Holloway believes that he can get the best out of a player who he deems hasn't fulfilled his full potential and is now in his mid-twenties.

Whether 'Pool make a fresh bid for him remains to be seen, but it is believed that the Seasiders are chasing multiple transfer targets so they could well move onto other players.

One player who won't be joining the Seasiders is Manchester United striker Federico Macheda.

Macheda (who has been linked with a loan move to Bloomfield Road) joined Sampdoria on loan yesterday afternoon.
