'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Oyston: No Charlie Enquiries

In an interview with Sky Sports News this morning, Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has said that BFC are yet to receive any offers for much admired midfielder and captain Charlie Adam.

Speculation about the Scot's future has been rife, but the club are desperate to hang onto their 'jewel in the crown' until at least the summer, and hopefully after guarenteeing another season of Premier League football; something that Adam would be key to achieving.

The chairman said:

'I've had no offers or enquiries for any of our players, so you said it was paper talk and I think that is exactly what it is.'

Oyston also spoke about the club's plans for strengthening the squad in the January transfer window:

'Ian and I have spoken at length about targets and who we'd like to try and bring in and we will try and bring some players in and we'll play the transfer market the same way as we always have done.

'Like all clubs do, we are trying to have the maximum benefit for the least cost and will really try and stick to our wage budget and our methods for doing business.'
