Rehab The Next Step for Billy-Boy

It's the famous Amy Winehouse song that goes 'They tried to make me go to rehab, but i said no no no' but Billy Clarke will no doubt be saying yes yes yes as he steps up his recovery to help Blackpool stay in the top flight.

The Irishman, who scored some sensational goals last season, none more so then the 30 second strike against Preston, injured himself minutes into Blackpool's first pre-season match against Tiverton, rupturing his cruciate ligament, a injury that can sideline a professional for many months.

But the striker/winger remains upbeat that he will be registered in the team when team registration opens up in January and is already checking himself into rehabilitation after a successful operation.

'The operation went well according to the surgeon and I'm just on a slow rehab at the moment,'

'I just need to get my leg working and bending and make sure that I don't lose much muscle in my thigh and that area. That's probably the plan for the next six-to-eight weeks'

Speaking about his current life while injured Clarke responded by announcing he will be following the route Mcphee took and will be doing some charity work

'We did a calendar last year so I'll have to choose a charity to raise funds for and think about what I'm going to do. I'll probably speak to the boys first.'

* Following on from our story about Bap's injury, Sources have said that it is 99% likely he will MISS out on Saturdays game against Newcastle United
