'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DJ Gave Me Sleepless Nights

Last week saw the return of Blackpool's favourite DJ, DJ Campbell that is, after a whole month of will he or won't he make his third return to the club and make it permanent.

And a week after the remarkable capture of Blackpool's most loved striker, Ollie has revealed how his past stint at club Leicester City could have scuppered his chances of capturing a fan favourite, after a brief 6 months there and leading the club to League 1.

'I probably had more sleepless nights over the last week or so of the transfer window than I've ever had in football, and that was because I was thinking about the DJ situation constantly.'

'I was thinking that my allegiance - however short and however wrong it was at Leicester - might have stood in the way of him coming here, and I don't think I would have been able to live with myself if that had been the case.'

DJ Campbell instantly became a hit when he signed on loan in the 2008/09 season, scoring on his début and then becoming Blackpool's top goal scorer for the season with 9 goals.

He was then signed on loan again by former boss Holloway and went on to help the Seasiders claim promotion to the Premier League after hitting a career first hat trick against Forest. He would later be Blackpool's first £1 million signing on deadline day.

Speaking of the move DJ said 'All the fans and all the players know I wanted to come back and I am just delighted that it has been made possible.'

He will no doubt be in contention for a starting place against Newcastle on Saturday.

* In other news Keith Southern has announced he could be ready to start against his home town club Newcastle after rapidly recovering from his medial knee ligament injury.
