'Pool Sign Harewood

In the last half hour Blackpool have completed their fifth signing of the day by signing forward Marlon Harewood on a free transfer.

30 year old Harewood has signed a two year deal with the club following his release from Aston Villa on wages of around 10,000 a week.

It had been reported that the deal for Harewood had broken down after interference from his agent, but obviously whatever issues there were now appear to have been resolved.

Harewood is expected to lead the 'Pool attack against Wigan on Saturday.

We will have more on this story tomorrow.

10k a week is only 520000 a year, but its still 10000 a week for a 31 year old journeyman striker. Hes very lucky to still be a PL player. I think this is a rubbish desperate signing.

This is a desperate signing if you ask me, he's never been a premiership class player if you ask me but maybe he'll find regular football at blackpool and settle down. Maybe all he needs is games under a manager that will play him week in week out and he'll start to bang them in, but i doubt it. I hope he does thoug as i really hope blackpool stay up this season. When you go to places like tottenham, man utd and chelsea and get a spanking remember that its what you wanted when fighting for promotion last season so don't moan about it, just smile and hope you get the chance to do better the season after. Good luck poolites, your gonna need it.
