'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Devon Tournament Did The Lads Good

Despite winning the South West Challenge Cup in Devon at the weekend, the Seasiders' trip was marred by injuries to Billy Clarke, Lewis Almond, Danny Coid and Malaury Martin.

Combined with high levels of fatigue amongst the players due to the small nature of 'Pool's squad, you would think that their time down South would have been a write off.

Not according to Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Keith Southern though, who both told the official website that they feel a lot sharper for going on the trip.

'We did what we came to do and the lads are a lot fitter than when we left Blackpool so it served a purpose,' said Southern.

Taylor-Fletcher added:

'It's been a good week away with the lads. You come here to keep the fitness up but it's good to keep the winning mentality going.'

Both players are expected to feature against Crewe tonight at Gresty Road.
