'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Adam: I Got Lucky

Last season, the transfer of Charlie Adam to Blackpool was the protracted transfer of the summer. This summer, they all are when it concerns the Seasiders!

Nevertheless, Charlie eventually signed and looking back at the moment, he admits that he's been lucky that the move has worked out so well.

'You always have to make decisions and sacrifices in life and I have done that,' Adam said.

'It might not have worked but I'm lucky, it did.

'I have a manager who trusts me and shows great faith in being able to play football and that is important.'

However, Adam admits that there is still work to do - especially when it comes to the Scotland team:

'Just because I am playing in the Premier League I can't just expect to play for Scotland.

'I need to play well in the Premier League so the national team manager picks me. How can you expect to play for your country if you are not playing well?

'You have got to give it your all every game and hopefully when the squads are announced you're in them.'

Adam also admits that there's a lot of work to be done by the Seasiders in the transfer market:

'We need to bring players in, everybody knows that.

'But the lads don't moan about it. It is up to other people to do the transfer deals and that is nothing to do with us.

'The manager is brilliant. He is working hard to get players in and I know he will bring the right people in for this club.

'The priority for myself and the rest of the lads is to keep working hard and get as fit as we can before that game at Wigan.'
