'Pool Sweat On Clarke Injury Scan
Ian Holloway was last night sweating over the fitness of forward Billy Clarke.
As if Ollie's failure to sign anyone yet this summer wasn't bad enough, the pool of players he has available to him continues to shrink.
Billy Clarke picked up a knee injury just two minutes into 'Pool's 2-0 win over Tiverton.
Clarke left the ground on crutches and was ordered to leave the squad's tour of Devon in order to return to Blackpool for tests on the injury, despite initial hopes that the knock was not that serious.
Clarke was in hospital yesterday having a scan on the injured knee, and it is Vital's understanding that it is suspected that Clarke has ruptured his medial ligament. If that is the case, then he is likely to be sidelined for a couple of months.
However, there are fears that he might well have completely torn the ligament, in which case he would spend the vast majority of the season on the sidelines.
If indeed Clarke is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, then Ollie might well have to rethink his transfer plans.
