Celtic Offer McCourt New Contract

With the news that Blackpool are set to launch a second bid for Patrick McCourt, Celtic have offered the winger a new contract.

Newspaper reports suggested that 'Pool are ste to launch a second bid for the 26 year old after their initial offer of 350,000 was rejected.

However, speaking to BBC Sport, Celtic manager Neil Lennon said that he wanted to keep McCourt at Celtic:

'We have offered Paddy a two-year extension and the ball is in his court.

'I'm aware there is interest, but we'd like to keep him.'

Missing out on McCourt for a second time would be a real blow for Ian Holloway; the Seasiders were set to sign the player on loan back in January before Celtic pulled the plug at the last minute.
