Rumour Round-Up

Rumour Round-Up

The Daily Express once again link us with Nicky Butt, whilst also claiming that we want Newcastle striker Nile Ranger on loan.

Meanwhile, the Scottish media reckon that Ian Holloway is set to launch a second bid for Celtic wingers Patrick McCourt after having an initial bid of £350,000 rejected.

The Sunday Express reckon that Ollie will also make a move for Bolton centre half Danny Shittu. Ollie has managed Shittu before (at QPR), and Shittu does of course have history here having played for the Seasiders during their 2000/1 promotion season.

The Scottish Sun claims that Blackpool are chasing Celtic winger Niall McGinn. The 22 year old is currently in talks with the Glasgow club about a new contract.

The Mirror claim that Ollie is also set to bid £1 million for Derby striker Rob Hulse, although wages could be a problem given that he is already on more at Derby than he is at Bloomfield Road.

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, claim that the Seasiders are close to re-signing Barry Bannan on loan from Aston Villa.

And finally, 'Pool have also been linked with the likes of Michael Owen (no joke!), Paul Scholes (no joke!), Leroy Lita, Nyron Nosworthy and an unknown Ghanian midfielder.

That brings you bang up to date... although since I started writing this we've probably been linked with a million more players... it's been that kind of summer!
