French Trialist Arrives At Blackpool?

The Blackpool players returned to training today as they begin to prepare for their first ever season in the Premier League, and it's believed that there was one new face amongst the squad as the team were put through their paces on the first day of pre-season at Squires Gate.

The new face in question is French midfielder Malaury Martin, who is believed to be on trial with the Seasiders.

But who is he?

Well, Martin is a 21 year old French midfielder who is currently on the books of Monaco.

He has been captain of their reserve team and has also captained France at every level from U17 to U21.

His Wikipedia states that 'Martin is a rugged and uncompromising central midfielder with a great range of passing and a wicked free-kick.'

He has only played three games for Monaco, and spent last season out on loan at Nimes (where he made 12 appearances). He also spent time last month on trial with Chicago Fire.

Despite this, just last summer Martin was still being tipped as a real prospect - could the Seasiders be the ones to get his career back on track?
