'If It's Football, It's Vital'

DJ To Preston, Lonergan To Blackpool?

Fresh after being linked with Ipswich, DJ Campbell has now been linked with a move to Preston.

Despite Nigel Pearson leaving the Foxes and being replaced by Paulo Sousa, it is still believed that Campbell is available for transfer, especially with Sousa favouring big, powerful strikers.

However, here at Vital, we believe that the DJ -> Preston link is wishful thinking on the part of our neighbours (it was one of their websites that carried the story) given their financial woes, woes that saw them offload Ross Wallace to Burnley last week.

In related news however, sources in Preston have been linking the Seasiders with a 1 million move for their goalkeeper Andy Lonergan over the past few days.

However, a source close to the player told me yesterday that they had heard absolutely nothing on that score.

In what will perhaps be a relief to 'Pool fans, it appears more likely that Lonergan will be joining Burnley, with a Burnley website and strong rumours linking the keeper with a move to the free spending side.
