'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Bouazza Comments Spark Confusion

Hameur Bouazza has sparked confusion by stating that he might stay at Blackpool despite being released by the club last month.

Speaking to Sky Sports at the weekend, the Algerian winger said:

'I've had a good season with Blackpool.

'I'm off to the Maldives for my holidays but I'll let my agents go to work.

'I have various options, including extending my stay at Blackpool, but I am ready to listen to other offers and I'm not ruling out a return to France.

'I'm a kid from the Paris suburbs and I have a real desire to play for the club that represents the capital city.'

Indeed, Sky Sports state that it would be a blow for Blackpool to lose the player, stating that he was a big part of our success last season!

Quite frankly, this report is a bolt from the blue and incredibly bizarre.

Have the club had a change of heart about Bouazza, or is he simply trying to negotiate the best deal possible for himself? The latter probably has more creditibility to it, but why would he say that he could stay at the club if that's not the case? Then again, from his actions over the past few months, we all know that he's a bit bizarre...

Two players who will be pulling on tangerine in the coming weeks however are Tony Ellis and Phil Clarkson, who have both signed for the Blackpool Masters team.
