'If It's Football, It's Vital'

All Eyes On The World Cup For Evo And Ollie

When the World Cup starts this afternoon, Ian Evatt and Ian Holloway will be glued to their televisions.

Not just because they're football fanatics, oh no, but because next season the Seasiders will be coming up against many of the players on show during the tournament.

Furthermore, with promotion to the Premier League, there is now the very real, and somewhat surreal chance, that the Seasiders could sign some of the players set to grace 'The Greatest Show On Earth'.

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, Ian Evatt said:

'As an England fan I'll be watching the World Cup and I'll be sitting there on my sofa thinking 'Hell, I've got to mark him next season!'

'Stamford Bridge, Anfield, Old Trafford … when you think about the fact that we'll be going to all those places next season it really hits home what we've achieved at this club and it is brilliant.

'We are still improving, we play fantastic football and it is great to watch.

'I'm not sure many teams will fancy coming to Bloomfield Road next season.'

Meanwhile, speaking about his plans for the World Cup to the official website, Ian Holloway said:

'Whenever England play my manager hat goes out of the window and I become a msasive fan.

'I will probably be watching the England games with my family down at my local. I have an England shirt and like everyone else I'll be cheering on the lads.

'I will be watching all the games and looking for players. I will watch and note all the different shapes and formations.

'It is a fantastic tournament and I can't wait to make some notes on it and try and learn.'
