Richard Chaplow... Surely Not?

The Mirror are today reporting that Blackpool boss Ian Holloway could be set to make a surprising move for ex Preston midfielder Richard Chaplow.

Chaplow was released by Preston last month and has been widely criticised by both Preston's fans and management.

However, he does have Premier League experience from his time at West Brom and Ollie could well look to utilise that next season as he looks to build a squad capable of competing in the Premier League without breaking the bank.

The Mirror aren't normally too bad for rumours, but one sentence in their report doesn't add up:

'Holloway is currently trying to sort out contracts with a handful of players who have one-year options in their deals before he starts signing fresh faces.'

Whether that inaccuracy is reflecting in the rest of story is unclear. Guess we will have to wait and see.

He'll be a useful acquisition. Always good to add strength and depth to the club.
