Retained List: BOUAZZA HANDED FREE TRANSFER

Ian Holloway has handed a free transfer to Algerian winger Hameur Bouazza in the most surprising move as he announces his retained list for next season.

The Seasiders will embark on a Premiership campaign and Bouazza has looked as if he's on the outside looking in at the squad and has distanced himself from the football club at times.

Joe Martin, Al Bangura, Danny Mitchley and obviously Daniel Nardiello all leave the club as their contracts have expired.

Ishmel Demontagnac has been handed a new one-year deal despite his behaviour at Bloomfield Road, largely thanks to a good loan spell at Chesterfield.

David Vaughan and Matt Gilks have also had their options taken up and will be at the club for another year.

Youngsters Ashley Eastham and Mark Halstead also remain for a year.

Experienced pros Stephen Crainey, Brett Ormerod and Jason Euell all triggered their games played clauses ages ago and were never in any danger of leaving.

In the most mysterious move, Ben Burgess and Rob Edwards are both unsure of their futures. The manager didn't take up their options of a further years' contract but still maintains that he wants them at the club, citing they want good people around the team. More will follow on that story as it progresses in the coming weeks, but both are available to speak to other clubs.

Unfortunately Stephen McPhee has had to retire from professional football after his persistent injury problems.
