'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Adam Fired Up For Wembley

There was a time last summer when it looked like Charlie Adam might not sign for Blackpool. Thankfully though, he did, and now the Scot has said that the move has transformed his career and that he cannot wait to face Cardiff on Saturday at Wembley.

'It was the right decision that I made in the summer and as a footballer you dream of playing in these games,' he said.

'The manager told me he would give me the opportunity to play and over the last year or 18 months I never had that opportunity.

'I hope I've repaid some of the faith of the manager and to play in the best league in the world would be amazing.'

Adam also admitted that he has holding back in recent weeks for fear of picking up a booking that would rule him out of the playoff final, but that the Seasiders faithful will see him at his best on Saturday.

'I would have been in tears if I'd got a booking and couldn't play in the final.

'I know because it happened to me before when I was at Rangers. I played in the semi-final of the CLS cup and picked up a booking.

'I didn't know I was suspended until after the game because no-one told me before.

'But this time I knew it was in my hands in the last few games, and probably my performances were not as good as they would have been because of that.'
