Hammers Set To Make Holloway Approach

A few weeks ago - whilst Gianfranco Zola was still West Ham manager - I heard a whisper that the Hammers were keeping a close eye on Ian Holloway's progress at Blackpool.

That whisper was confirmed yesterday when it was revealed by the press and media that the London club have drawn up a shortlist of four managers that they wish to speak to about the vacant managerial position - Ollie being one of them.

However, they will have to wait until after Saturday's playoff final before making an approach, and the same goes for Cardiff's Dave Jones who also features on their shortlist.

Ex 'Pool manager Sam Allardyce also features, whilst the Hammers this morning opened talks with Portsmouth manager Avram Grant who is believed to be the favourite to land the job.

With Ollie only having a one year option left on his contract after Saturday, it does leave the Seasiders potentially vulnerable to an approach from a bigger club such as West Ham.

At present, Ollie has made no comment on the speculation, and you'd expect it to firmly remain that way as he attempts to focus on guiding the Seasiders into the Premier League.

Hopefully everything will be a lot clearer after the weekend, and hopefully Ollie will still have his feet firmly under the desk at Bloomfield Road.
