I could link this vote to the other vote happening on May 6th, saying how this one is more important etc, but nah. Been done hasn't it?
Instead, I'll simply say that we need you to help crown the 2009-10 Vital Blackpool Player of the Season.
The award is in it's fourth year now, and the three previous winners are as follows:
2006-7: Shaun Barker
2007-8: Kaspars Gorkss
2008-9: Alex Baptiste
That's right, all defenders. Something tells me that that pattern will be coming to an end this season though...
So who's canvassing for your vote?
Well, me and Jack have taken it upon ourselves to create a shortlist of five players that we deem worthy of the title. It was a tough decision and some players just missed the cut, but nevertheless, here are the final five...
Matt Gilks: What a transformation this season. From 'dead wood' to undisputed number one. Gilksy has come from nowhere to snatch the number one jersey from Paul Rachubka, and a series of fine displays have ensured that he's kept it. He might not win Player of the Season, but he's certainly my 'Most Improved Player of the Season'.
Alex Baptiste: Can he retain his title? Rarely puts a foot wrong and he's certainly worth a lot more than the £5,000 we paid for him. Recently signed a new long term deal to ward off the interest from bigger clubs. If he keeps playing as he has been though, surely it won't be too long before we receive a bid for him that we simply can't refuse?
David Vaughan: Mr Consistent. Pretty much been superb all season. Whilst Charlie Adam has stolen the headlines, Vaughan's quietly gone about his job and is a large factor in our success.
Charlie Adam: The odds on favourite, and I don't need to say why.
Brett Ormerod: I was worried when we re-signed him that he'd not be as good and that would tarnish my memory of him. Brett's surprised everyone with his performances this season though and his goals have been crucial. He might be in his 30s, but he still plays like an 18 year old.
So there we have it, 'The Famous Five'. To vote, just scroll down towards the bottom of the home page and you'll see the relevant poll.
The choice, as they say, is yours.
