'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Newcastle Boss Expects Seasiders in Top Six

Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton has said that he expects the Seasiders to finish in the top six.

Despite his team beating 'Pool 4-1 at the weekend, Hughton said: 'Their season has been a fair indication of what they've achieved, the league table doesn't lie.'

The Magpies secured promotion back to the Premiership at the first attempt last week but that didn't stop them comfortably beating Ian Holloway's team.

However, Hughton believes Ollie is the key to any possible promotion to the top division.

'I know Ian. How you see him is how he is, a buoyant character,' he said.

'He enjoys life and football and he makes the most of everything he's got, which is also the message he gets to his players.'

Holloway himself had this message ahead of Saturday's game with Nottingham Forest: "Nothing else matters now - it is all about what happens at the weekend.

"We cannot afford to look at anyone or anything else.

"On Saturday it was no good looking at how Leicester got on at Peterborough, or how Swansea did at Bristol City.

"It is about ourselves and all we can do and must do is focus on Forest and preparing for that game and trying to win it."
