Ollie: Nothing To Celebrate

Ollie: Nothing To Celebrate

Today was probably a tough but successful day for Blackpool manager Ian Holloway. He had to go back to the club that he put on the map before walking out on them without rhyme or reason according to some.

Given the way that he departed from Plymouth, it comes as little surprise to learn that Ollie didn't get a warm reception at Home Park this afternoon, with many Plymouth fans still bitter towards their ex manager.

No doubt there will be accounts of things that 'happened' today that will appear over the coming days as people look to drag Ollie's name through the mud further, but, despite Blackpool's win, the man himself said after the game that he had nothing to celebrate.

'I normally celebrate - I'm a very passionate man - but I didn't celebrate because I didn't want to hurt anybody at Plymouth. I know I've hurt them in the past,' said Ollie.

However, Ollie was understandably pleased with his side's second half display as they put further pressure on those above them in the table:

'It was a much better second-half performance, we seemed to forget about our game plan.

'I managed to remind them what I wanted at half time and in the second half we settled down and got a couple of breakaway efforts.

'They were clinically finished off - and that makes the difference.'

Meanwhile, Argyle manager Paul Mariner bemoaned his side's luck as they slipped further towards relegation.

'When you're in our position, sometimes you just don't have the luck.

'I'm not pointing any fingers but, if Joe Mason puts the volley in from the six-yard box, then maybe we get something out of it, but Blackpool went up the other end and scored. How many times do you see that in football?

'When you're not having much luck, sometimes you get it in the you-know-what.'
