'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Adam Wants Goals, Goals, Goals

At present, Charlie Adam's best season in terms of goalscoring goes back to his time at Rangers, when he crashed home fourteen goals in one season in the Scottish Premier League.

However, the Scottish international midfielder is desperate to beat that this season with the 'Pool, and looks set to do so, having already notched thirteen league goals for Ian Holloway's men this season (plus one in the Carling Cup).

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, Adam said:

'Ten goals was my original target before the start of the season but now it is 14 because I want to beat what was my previous highest.

'If I can get above that I'll be really happy.

'It is going to be hard but there are a lot of games to go and a lot of football to be played so hopefully I can get there.

'But the thing that will please me even more is if we keep playing the way we are.'

However, Adam is also looking for his partnership with DJ Campbell to hot up in the closing weeks of the season.

Campbell scored on Saturday after a wonderful through ball from Adam, and the Scot is eager for similar results in the Seasiders' remaining games of the season.

Speaking to the official website, Adam said:

'I've been saying to DJ for a while we need to link-up more because he's got terrific pace. He's a top player and the quality that you see is there.'

With Campbell feeding off the supply of the likes of Adam and David Vaughan, as well as linking up with the likes of Hamuer Bouazza and Stephen Dobbie, the last few weeks of the season look promising for the Seasiders and it will be very interesting to see if we can sneak into the playoffs after everything is said and done come the end of the forty-sixth game.
