'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Spirit Could Be The Key

The spirit within the Seasiders' squad is infamous - everyone connected with the club in any way talks about, saying how the lads are all mates, pulling in the right direction, willing to prove everyone wrong, and so on.

And with the last few weeks and months of the season upon us, defender Ian Evatt says that that spirit could help the Seasiders in a late charge for the playoffs.

'There are a lot of big teams in this division, with a lot of big earners who probably fancy themselves as better footballers than us,' Evo said.

'I don't think they are, and our passion, workrate and desire is far greater than anyone else's. If we can continue that, I'm sure we can pick up the results we need.'

The centre half also said that the squad believe that they have put their blip behind them and are looking to push on in the last few weeks of the season and pick up as many points as possible.

'We all believe that our blip is out of the way and that we can finish the season the way we started it.

'Everybody beats everybody in the Championship. No matter how many points you are ahead, the gap soon closes.

'We were miles ahead of anyone in the bottom half of the table, then all of a sudden Derby strung a few wins together and they are on our tails. You never know what is going to happen.

'We just have to keep playing the way we have and I'm sure there's a possibility of making the top six.'
