Trio Dropped After Nightclub Visit

Following reports that they had been spotting clubbing after Saturday's defeat to Leicester, Neal Eardley, Ishmel and Barry Bannan have all been dropped for tonight's clash against Sheffield Wednesday by 'Pool manager Ian Holloway.

It is believed that the trio will escape fines, but will not feature tonight for 'disciplinary reasons' as Holloway puts his foot down.

Ollie is known for his strict, but fair, regime, but he will especially be annoyed at Eardley and Bannan who are carrying injuries and were scheduled to be at the club the next day for treatment.

'I'm disappointed - we'll have a party once we've got 52 points,' Holloway said in an interview with BBC Radio Lancashire.

'If they think that's appropriate, then they're messing with the wrong man.

'Bannan's probably broken his toe but it was apparently good enough to go out dancing on a Saturday night.

'I like a dance with anybody but it's got to be the right time and when you're in a good mood.

'I'm not in a good mood when I lose and neither should they be.'

Although it is admirable to see Holloway take a stand, it does leave his options for tonight's game very stretched with Charlie Adam and Brett Ormerod suspended, and Daniel Nardiello rumoured to be injured again. Stephen Dobbie may also miss the trip after his wife gave birth to a baby boy.

In one piece of good news for a Seasiders player however, young defender Ben Breakell will be at Lilleshall this week attempting to break into the Northern Ireland youth squads.
