Dobbie Debut May Be Delayed

Stephen Dobbie is hoping to make his Blackpool debut against West Brom tonight, provided that his wife does not give birth to their child!

The striker's pregnant wife, Susanne, is five days overdue and although Dobbie is expected to be the squad for tonight's match, that will change should Susanne go into labour.

'My wife is in a hotel on the Prom. I've got a house organised, which we are about to move into,' said Dobbie.

'It has been a bit rushed. It was a case of a quick pack in Swansea, so the baby will be born in England now.'

However, should Dobbie get the nod tonight, he is determined not to let becoming a father for the first time distract him.

'Since Susanne became pregnant we've been living in three countries anyway. And it won't stop me concentrating on tonight's game.

'As long as everything is OK, you leave your home life at home and get on with your work. All in all, it's been a good start to the year and now I'm just looking forward to trying to do well for Blackpool.'

Dobbie is expected to start tonight from the bench, with DJ Campbell getting the nod up top.

However, with Campbell ineligible to play on Saturday against Leicester due to the terms of his loan agreement, expect Dobbie to make an appearance some time during the match as Ian Holloway assesses his options for Saturday.

Vital Blackpool would like to take this opportunity to wish Stephen and Susanne all the best... let's hope that he scores on the pitch as well as he has scored off it!
