'Pool Up The Stakes in Defender Pursuit

The Seasiders are believed to have offered 500k for Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth.

The deal, if accepted, will see 'Pool pay 200k up front and a further 300k in add ons.

Ian Holloway originally bid just 75k for the 22-year-old, and was promptly laughed at by the Scottish club.

But he hopes this new bid will encourage United to play ball.

The teams is thought to need a defender, striker and a midfielder in the transfer window, and Ollie is working on five deals.

He said: 'We've got five deals on the go and am I anticipating getting all of them? I don't know.

'It is a big ask by Monday. If I get two I'll be lucky. If I get three I'll be delighted.

'If I don't get any there is always the loan market, which is open a week after the deadline and we are already looking at it.'
