Bluebirds Hopeful About Saturday's Game

Despite the foul weather conditions currently engulfing the UK, Cardiff City have announced that they are confident that Saturday's game will go ahead as planned.

Unlike for their recently postponed game against Leicester, the Bluebirds have actually turned their undersoil heating on and any snows that falls on the pitch is melting immediately.

The club are also working in tandem with the relevant local authorities to ensure that all of the access routes in and around the stadium are clear for Saturday.

If the game does go ahead it will ensure that the Seasiders do not fall three games behind some of their promotion rivals, further adding to their fixture backlog.

However, the Seasiders will be without Ian Evatt and Rob Edwards for Saturday's trip with both players set to serve one match bans for their dismissals last weekend. Incidentally, neither dismissal was appealed after advice from referee Eddie Ilderton's assessor.

Around 300 tickets have been sold for Saturday's clash, with tickets priced at £26 for adults and £15 for concessions. The game is all-ticket, although if the decision is taken to allow sales on the day then the adult price will increase by £2.

Tickets remain on sale until 1pm tomorrow.
