Seasiders Slip To City Defeat

Seasiders Slip To City Defeat

The 'Pool boss was very unhappy with his players, and let them know it after they failed to take advantage of the results around them and further establish their playoff credentials.

The Seasiders lined up Rachubka, Crainey, Baptiste, Edwards, Eardley, Southern, Bouazza, Adam, Vaughan, Euell and Burgess, with loan signing Marcel Seip on the bench.

It was the hosts though that made all the early running. Paul Rachubka denied Cole Skuse, Evander Sno and Marvin Elliott inside the first 15 minutes.

Nicky Maynard then had an attack of the Jekyll and Hyde's: after missing a simple tap in, he then acrobatically put his side a goal up with an overhead kick after 'Pool failed to clear their lines. It was no less than the hosts deserved.

'Pool then got their act together however and started to come into the game, but were unable to find an equaliser.

They were made to pay just before the hour when Danny Haynes crashed home a shot from 25 yards. Game over.

Rachubka then saved well from Elliott as Blackpool failed to get back into the game despite a triple substitution.

It finished 2-0 and Holloway will be hoping that his ear bashing has an effect and that the lads immediately bounce back to winning ways against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
