Pericard Lands Trial at 'Pool

Frenchman Vincent Pericard has joined The Seasiders on trial.

The striker, who was released by Premiership side Stoke City in the summer, has recently had a spell at Bristol City but didn't do enough to earn a contract at Ashton Gate.

And so he moves on to Blackpool where he plays for the reserves tonight against Tranmere Rovers.

Ian Holloway is desperate for a big target man to compete with, or fill in for the often-injured, Ben Burgess.

The 26-year-old certainly fits the bill at 6'1'.

However, the Cameroon-born forward isn't a natural goalscorer. His last goal came back in 2007 for The Potters - he also failed to score in two loan spells at Southampton and Millwall.

Pericard's best season came in 2002-03 where he helped Portsmouth win promotion to the Premiership whilst on loan there from Juventus - hitting nine goals.
