Man Of The Match Update

Its that time again for another Man of the Match round up, this time around we look back at the Watford, Wigan and Coventry games, where Blackpool managed to remain unbeaten in what has been an impressive start so far for Ian Holloway.

First up is the respectable draw against Watford, due to the distance for this game we didn`t receive as many votes as past games, Charlie Adam was the clear winner for this one, picking up 75% of the votes and registering his first MOTM of the season and I`m sure he`ll be delighted to know he has registered the highest victory percentage of the season so far.

Next up was the fantastic 4-1 win over 'Premiership' team Wigan, who in all honesty looked nothing like a Premiership team. It was a brilliant team performance but the three players who picked up votes were Matthew Gilks who gave a tremendous display in goal, Charlie Adam who carried on his good form from the Wigan game and grabbed a goal, and Ishmel Demontagnac who scored with a wonderful left footed strike in the opening minutes to get the ball rolling. There was however one bit of sad news that night, which involved Ishmel picking up an injury and I`m sure all the fans wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the team very soon!

Charlie Adam and Ishmel both received the same amount of votes with 23% of the votes each. The winner for this one was Matty Gilks who grabbed 54% of the votes and did his claim for the number one spot no harm with a very good performance in net.

Following the Wigan game was another impressive win, this time over Coventry. This again was a decent team performance with Ian Evatt, Neal Eardley and Brett Ormerod getting the share of the votes. Ian Evatt got 28% of the votes for this one, whilst Eardley and Ormerod both picked up 36% of the votes meaning we have a tie! Which means we have to have a vote off in the forum, which can be found here: http://www.blackpool.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=16976&posts=1#M143713 as there can only be one man of the match!

Here is the latest table:

Player Wins Percentage of votes (Average)
Ian Evatt 2 51%
Charlie Adam 1 75%
Jason Euell 1 66%
Neal Eardley 1 58.30%
Matthew Gilks 1 54%

Remember to head over and vote in the decider for the Coventry game, Could Neal Eardley pick up his second vote of the season and go joint top with Ian Evatt, or will the hard working Brett Ormerod pick up his first MOTM of the season? You decide!
