SEASIDERS SMASH RECORD FEE ON ADAM

The long-running transfer saga involving Charlie Adam's move from Rangers to Blackpool is over!

The 23-year-old has signed a two year contract at Bloomfield Road with the option of a third.

The Seasiders have smashed their record transfer fee paid after shelling out £500k for the central midfielder, who was a major catalyst in 'Pool staying in The Championship last season.

There had been doubt as to whether Holloway would land his man after the club didn't have the funds to finalise a deal but after President Valeri Belokon pumped money into the club late last week, a deal was struck.

Manager Holloway said: "I'm delighted to have signed Charlie.

"I would also like to thank Mr Belokon for the amount of trust and faith he's placed in me."

With the extra money created from Latvia will come more signings before Saturday's opener at QPR.
