Edwards: 'We Could Be Onto Something Special'

Rob Edwards has spoken of his high regard for new boss Ian Holloway, stating that his new, tougher training regimes and general demeanour and performance could lead the Seasiders onto something special.

The 26 year old defender said: 'The gaffer wants us to kick us on and it's great to be a part of it. I love it here and we could be onto something special at this club.

'The manager has come in and tried to get things sorted quickly. There are obviously things that he wants to improve, and I think they were the same things we hoped for.

'If we can improve on what we did last season, imagine what we could achieve in the next few years.

'We've been asked to work a lot harder and have been placed on weight-training programmes.

'The weights are a whole new experience to some of our lads but it should benefit our strength and speed in matches.

'You only have to look at the lads in the Premier League these days - they are all athletes. It's been hard work but we've all embraced it.'
