Deepdale Done Again

Blackpool fans will have the opportunity to re-live the side's 1-0 win over Preston at Deepdale last season at a special fund raising night organised by the club.

'Deepdale Done Again' will see the entire 90 minutes of the derby match replayed on a big screen, and at the half time interval, new Pool boss Ian Holloway and Rod Edwards and Stephen Crainey will take part in a question and answer session with the fans.

The night aims to raise funds for the club's Centre of Excellence, official charity of BFC - Brian House Children's Hospice, and a memorial plaque for the North Stand (Kop) dedicated to Kevin Olsson.

On 24th August 1974, 17 year old Blackpool fan Kevin Olsson was stabbed to death at the back of the Spion Kop at Bloomfield Road during a match with Bolton Wanderers in what was the first hooligan death at an English football match.

The night will also include a raffle and auction. Items up for grabs in the raffle include your chance to appear in the official team photo shoot for the new season, with an A3 print of the shoot being produced and signed by the entire first team squad, and a Roy O'Donovan shirt, along with many other football prizes. The auction meanwhile will see a framed and signed Charlie Adam shirt go under the hammer (proceeds to Brian House), as well as two seats in the directors box for a home game next season (proceeds to the Kevin Olsson memorial) and the number one badges of the 'Season 09/10' supporter's badges produced by Vital member Mick Page and kindly donated to the club... the only badges left available, and a must have for any Blackpool fan!

The event takes place tonight in the Sponsors Lounge from 7pm. Admission is priced at £3 and tickets are available from the club ticket office.
